Rwanda Intango Coffee

The cultivation of coffee was introduced to Rwanda by German missionaries starting in 1904. Although political and civil strife have caused fluctuations in the country's coffee production from the first crop, Rwandan culture has been shaped by the cultivation and consumption of coffee. A large majority of Rwandan coffee produced by small farms operating on less than 2.5 acres each, of which the country is home to over 450,000.
